KATHLEEN “KATHY” CONKLIN
Posted: September 17th, 2024 KATHLEEN “KATHY” CONKLIN July 24, 1951 – September 12, 2024 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kathleen (Kathy) Maria Conklin (HIEB).
Kathy was born and raised in Medicine Hat AB on July 24, 1951, to Ruben and Agnes Hieb and passed away September 12, 2024, at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Calvyn; daughters, Nadine Conklin and Robyn (Alex) Hayhurst; grandchildren, Bethannie, Ethan and Abigail Hayhurst; and great grandchildren, Maverik and Leo Sanders; her loving sister, Margaret (Pat) Kelly; brother, Jim Hieb; and sister-in-law, Eva (Gordon) DeBoef; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Diane) and Randy Conklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy is predeceased by her parents, Ruben and Agnes; brother, Bill Hieb; brothers-in-law, Gordon and Allen Conklin; nephew, Rob Kelly; and great grand-daughter, Phoebe Rose.
Kathy was born and raised in Medicine Hat where she completed her high school education. Kathy worked as a bookkeeper at Kirk’s Midway Tire and as a bingo cashier and bingo caller at Top Hat Bingo.
Kathy was a voracious reader especially mysteries and anything by JD Robb. She also adored crochet and was always buzzing around with excitement whenever she heard of a new baby being born as she would create the most beautiful baby blankets as a gift from her hands and heart. If you were lucky enough to receive one of these blankets, you were truly loved by Kathy.
The birth of her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren brought a new purpose to her life as she spent as much time as possible showering them with love.
Kathy was an avid member of the oil-wives chapter of Medicine Hat. These women were a shining light in her life and meant so very much to her. Kathy was to receive her 50-year pin in October, and she was exceptionally proud of this accomplishment.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10th at Hampton Inn & Suites (2510 Boxsprings Blvd) at 11:00am. Condolences may be made at www.gracememorial.com. Arrangements are made by
