MYRNA OWENS Oct. 26, 1947 ~ Oct. 11, 2024 Mrs. Myrna Ann Owens (nee Irwin) of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 76 years. Myrna is survived by her beloved husband, Kent and sister-in-law, Carolyn Irwin. Myrna was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Irwin and one brother, Glenn Irwin. Myrna and Kent met in Winnipeg in 1968, and were married the following year on September 7, 1968, in Portage la Prairie. At that time, they resided and worked at a jewelry store in Thompson, Manitoba. In 1980, they moved to Medicine Hat to try their hands at worm farming and they did so until an opportunity to purchase the jewelry store back in Thompson presented itself in 1987. In 2002, Myrna and Kent moved back to Medicine Hat to retire. Myrna’s life will be honoured and her memory will be cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral service.
