1939 ~ DOUG PICKEN ~ 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Picken, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Doug passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 85 years. Doug was a devoted husband to his late wife, Gloria Picken, with whom he shared a beautiful life for 63 years. Doug is survived by his children, Bruce Picken, Sandy (Mel) Brabrant, and Deb Picken; grandchildren, Mark Picken (Amber) and Christine Hilsendeger, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, Cade, Lacey, and Rowan; as well as his brothers, Stanley and Herb, and his sister, Thelma. Doug was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; and his parents, Robert and Phoebe Picken. Doug was also a dedicated entrepreneur. He owned and operated Fred’s Auto Wreckers/The Hubcap Place for over 45 years. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Doug had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and skidooing. He loved stock car racing and reveled in the thrill of competition, winning several championships that showcased his skill and determination. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts. Doug will be missed and remembered without a formal service.
