Neil was born in lnnisfail on August 24, 1939, and spent his early years in Vancouver and returned to lnnisfail after the war. He moved to Edmonton where he completed high school and attended the University of Alberta. He spent time working as a lifeguard in Fort Saskatchewan and loved teaching his daughters to swim. He moved to Medicine Hat in 1967, to teach for Medicine Hat College. He met his future wife at the Park Lane Motel; they were married within three months. He coached hockey for the college for many years. He volunteered with the Association for the Mentally Handicapped and was on the Board of Directors for Ponoka Hospital. He became active in the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners, participating in the band and mobile units in parades throughout southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. After retirement, he became an avid golfer, going out daily with his group of friends. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, lining up the boys for their “buzz cuts” in the back yard. He loved to spend time outdoors and had a meticulous yard. He and his wife loved to travel.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends especially Al Boyko. Cremation has been entrusted to the Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium. To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
