BARBARA ERICK

BARBARA ERICK 1933 – 2024 Barbara Rose Erick (Nee Kuntz), age 91, of Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Sunnyside Care Center.
Born on a farm near Bromhead, Saskatchewan, she was the oldest of six children of Peter and Margaret Kuntz. She grew up on the farm with five brothers. On June 10, 1952 she married George Erick, they then moved to Fillmore, Saskatchewan where George started working as an Elevator Agent. The family moved to Palmer in 1953, where they remained until 1971. They then moved to Regina Saskatchewan and in 1976 made the move to Medicine Hat.
Barbara worked in the service industry and retail for a number of years, until George left the sales industry and started a lawncare business which they operated together until retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband George Erick, son Dwayne Erick, sons-in-law Collin Richmond and Jerry Petrick and one brother Andrew. Barbara leaves her remaining children, Brenda Richmond, Eugene Erick and Donna Petrick, as well as four grandchildren, Tammy Richmond (Jason Hillmer), Rhonda Richmond, Curtis Petrick, Dawn (Adam) Cosgrove and five great grandchildren, Karah, Caitlyn, Hudson, Colton and Lilly; four brothers, Mike (Sharon), Clem (Kathy), Frank (Wendy) and Bill (Shirley) as well as many additional relatives and friends.
A small family service will be held at a later date. Barbara’s family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Care Centre for the years of excellent care and comfort they provided.
