DEAN FANDRICK

1973 ~ 2025

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Dean Fandrick, announces his unexpected passing on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 51 years. Dean was born on April 20, 1973, in Calgary, a son born to proud parents, Ken and Connie Fandrick. He grew up and attended school in Richmound, Saskatchewan where the foundation for his life was laid. It was there that he helped out on the farm and developed a love for the land and farming. As a young man, he ventured off to Calgary and enrolled in studies at SAIT in the Instrument Technology program. His heart was always in farming and he found himself living in the country where his passion for the wide open spaces were realized. He was always interested in seeing  the animals that would roam by and enjoyed the serenity found in birdwatching. Dean had a quiet demeanor about him but his helpful and respectful nature spoke loudly of his character. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and did so without even a thought of getting anything in return. Although he was reserved in his emotions, he loved deeply and thought the world of his wife and family… especially his two boys.  Dean will be deeply missed by his wife, Cherie Simons Fandrick and two boys, Cole and Seth Fandrick; his mother, Connie Fandrick; brother, Neil Fandrick and the mother of his boys, Brenda Fandrick; Father and mother-in-law, Jim and Barb Simons and sisters-in-law, Cindy Simons and Crystal Simons. He was predeceased by his father, Ken Fandrick. A Celebration of Dean’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Those who may wish to virtually attend the service via livestream, may do so by visiting the Cook Southland website and select the View Broadcast  button on the homepage at service time.
