With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Edwin Orellana-Jordan, a beloved father, grandfather, and extraordinary physician. Born in Guatemala, Edwin earned his medical degree to dedicate his life to the service of others. His career spanned continents, taking him from Guatemala to South Africa and ultimately to Canada, where he worked for over 25 years with AHS.
Dr. Edwin was known for his unwavering dedication to his patients. His expertise and compassion resulted in countless lifesaving and life-improving interventions, and his calm presence in moments of crisis brought comfort to all who knew him. He cared deeply about his work, ensuring every patient received the dignity and attention they deserved.
Beyond his profession, Edwin was a devoted father to his children, who, along with their families, mourn his loss privately while celebrating his legacy of love, resilience, and selflessness.
In keeping with Edwin’s wishes, there will be no formal service. For those who wish to honor his memory, the family encourages you to reflect on his incredible legacy, to remember those whose lives are better today because of his compassion, skill and sacrifice. Whether you or a loved one received his care, or you simply recognize his profound contribution, his impact on the community will live on in the stories of lives he saved and the hearts he touched.
Dr. Edwin Orellana-Jordan will be forever remembered as a healer and a deeply loved member of his family and community. He will be profoundly missed by all whose lives are better for having known him. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
