FAY MINOR
Posted: January 25th, 2025 1942 ~ FAY MINOR ~ 2025 Fay Vivian Minor of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Tad Minor, passed away on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at the age of 82 years. Fay was born in Bassano, Alberta to Happy and Maggie Jewett. Fay attended school in Brooks and Post Secondary at the University of Alberta where she was also a competitive athlete on both the swimming and curling team. Fay finished her first year of the Bachelor of Education program and began her teaching career as an educational assistant at Connaught School in Medicine Hat. Fay loved working with children and was employed by the Medicine Hat School District for 28 years. Fay was a devoted mother and grandmother whose family was always her first priority and her pride and joy. Over the years, she spent countless hours cheering on her children and grandchildren at a variety of sporting events. Fay especially enjoyed gatherings with her family and her beloved “Sixty Chicks”. She also loved travelling all over Europe and Hawaii with her daughter Tammy. Fay enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. Fay is survived by her children, Thane Minor of Medicine Hat, Tim Minor (Tammy Foster) of Medicine Hat, and Tammy (Guy) Shapka of Alix; grandchildren, Tanner (Dr. Alyssa Froese), Teagan, Kate and Callum; brother, Ken (Marcia) Jewett; sister, Linda Edney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at 4 West as well as the Doctors and staff of St. Joseph’s Home. The family is eternally grateful for the warmth, compassion and exceptional care that Fay received while in their care. A Celebration of Fay’s Life will be held at a later date in Medicine Hat. Fay was my EA at Connaught School back in the 90’s. I will never forget her, she was so patient with us and left an everlasting impression. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to the family.
