NICHOLAS TEWSLEY-SCHWABE July 13, 1989 – March 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas “Nick” Tewsley-Schwabe at the age of 35 years. Nick was born and raised in Medicine Hat until he left the nest in his 20’s and moved to Red Deer. Nick will be sadly missed by his father, Les Schwabe; his sister, Cassie (Dustin) Meier, and his special nephews, Blaize, Weston and Cooper; a very close friend Brandy Boen, his “second Mom”, Auntie Joan Desjarlais; and her children; Aunt’s Brenda Girard and Terry Schwabe (Sharon). Also, many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Schwabe and Tewsley families, located from here to the west coast. Nick is predeceased by his mom, Christine Tewsley-Schwabe; and his sister, Quinn; grandparents, Jackie and Orville Schwabe, and Teresa and Jack Tewsley; and uncle’s Ken Desjarlais and Greg Tewsley. Nick had a huge heart and touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a big influence as the only uncle to his three nephews. He spoiled them, gave them advice and of course, was the “fixer” for everything when he came down for a visit. He was eager to give anyone a helping hand whether it was help with a drywall or construction project, or just a visit. Nick was known for his surprise drop-in visits. After graduating he was eager to join the workforce, starting in construction. Then he left Medicine Hat to get into the oil and gas industry working for big companies like Jewel Oilfield and Step Energy, working his way up to become a department supervisor as well as an operator for many years. His hard work and perseverance fuelled a passion for nice cars, snappy clothes and travel. He visited places like Thailand, Cuba, Dominican, Philippines and has a special love for BC. His outgoing nature led him to a career change in sales, first in the car business and in the last few years in Real Estate, and most recently with Red Deer Coldwell Banker. Nick’s presence will be missed by the many people he encountered, through work, his travels, and his family. The Funeral Service will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 4V3, on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
