WILLIAM GEHRING
Posted: June 14th, 2025 WILLIAM GEHRING 1934 ~ 2025 William (Bill) Gehring of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Carol Gehring, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 90 years. William (Bill) Gehring was born in Medicine Hat to Albert and Louise Gehring on June 28, 1934, the sixth of eight children. He grew up on the family farm in Medicine Hat, which became Spring Coulee Dairy and is now Paradise Valley Golf Course. Bill was always ready and willing to try new adventures, owning farms and mining in B.C., Alberta, Dawson City, Yukon and Costa Rica. He also spent several years in Prince George at the mill and running a taxi company. When he finally retired to Kelowna, his love of fishing had him spending most of his summers on lakes around B.C., and his winters doing jigsaw puzzles, watching hockey (Vancouver Canucks being his team of choice) and challenging anyone to a game of crib. Bill returned to Medicine Hat for his final two years to be closer to his family. He will forever be remembered for his witty sense of humour and for his willingness to always lend a helping hand. We are so thankful for the memories he has given us. Bill leaves to cherish his memory two children, Curtis Gehring and Charmaine (Ed) Hagel; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Carl) Elliott, Gary (Lorissa) Hagel and Clayton (Hannah) Gehring; his great grandson Brody Gehring; two sisters, Eileen Fode and Beatrice Hennes, and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Gehring. He was predeceased by his loving wife Carol Gehring, his parents Albert and Louise Gehring; three brothers, Harvey Gehring, Charlie Gehring and Winston Gehring; two sisters, Jean Trent and Elsie Cairney. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
