BERNHARD HEIZELMAN 1929 ~ 2025

Bernhard “Ben” Heizelman, beloved husband of Evelyn Heizelman of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 96 years.  He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Earl (Dixie) Heizelman and Ron (Nadine) Heizelman; three grandchildren, Corey (Stephanie) Wick, Justin Wick (Shanna), and Kalle (Ryan) Kingsley; six great grandchildren, Madilyn, Camryn, Ethan, Albert, Andrew, and Jackson.  Ben was predeceased by his parents, John and Christina Heizelman; four brothers, Richard, Edwin, Emil, and Tom; five sisters, Bertha, Ruth, Laura, Elsie, and Martha.  Ben was born February 12, 1929, and raised in the Golden Prairie District on the family homestead.  He later moved to Medicine Hat where he met and married Evelyn on December 5, 1953. Ben started working part-time for the City of Medicine Hat and after years of hard work and dedication, Ben eventually retired in 1984 from his position of foreman for the Asphalt Plant.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Good Sam’s for their excellent care over the years.  The celebration of Ben’s life will take place in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating.  Friends and family who wish to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to the service.  The service will be live streamed.  Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit Ben’s obituary page on our website, for the link.  A private family interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery.  To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
