JEAN GOLDADE 1942 ~ 2025 Mrs. Jean Lorraine Goldade (née Fischer) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 83 years, surrounded by her closest loved ones. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta to August and Martha Fischer (née Kundert), Jean was the second of three siblings. Her experiences being raised on the family farm at Hilda, Alberta helped to develop her strong work ethic and stoic nature. Over the years, Jean lived in Medicine Hat, Pincher Creek, Lloydminster and Red Deer. Jean and Albert moved to a farm near Bentley, Alberta, in 1981 where they built a new home along the Blindman River and continued to live until her passing. Jean was a strong, hardworking, self-determined and independent person. She took pride in maintaining financial independence, treating herself to fine, meaningful purchases and consistently owning her own Cadillac. Jean enjoyed a professional career of over thirty years spanning the financial services and Alberta provincial government public sectors. Jean also served on the board of directors for the Red Deer Co-op for seven years. After retirement in 1995, Jean and Albert took great pleasure in travelling across North America, Europe and Asia. In 2010, Jean and her siblings traveled to visit the location of ancestral heritage, in the Odessa region of what is known today as the Ukraine. Their most recent trip in September took them to New York City, where they attended two Blue Jays games at Yankee Stadium. In 2009, Jean and Albert purchased a home in Palm Desert, California and spent each winter thereafter enjoying all that the desert had to offer. Whether in Alberta or California, Jean loved to be in the sun. In their community of Sun City Palm Desert, Jean had an extensive group of friends. She actively participated in many social clubs including the Canadian Club, the Putters, and the Quilters Society having served as Secretary and Treasurer for the latter. She also enjoyed regularly attending Albert’s softball games. Jean enjoyed golfing and was a regular participant and Club Treasurer in the ladies’ league at Lakewood. In 2021, Jean and Albert placed their holiday trailer on a lot at the Lakewood Eden RV Park where they enjoyed many summer days and evenings with friends and family.
Jean is survived by her husband Albert; sons, Craig and Cameron; siblings, Marvin and Barb; grandchildren, Jennifer, Elijah, Sophia and William; and great grandchild Mila.
