MARVIN PAUL MENSAGHI April 8, 1954 ~ January 1, 2026
We are deeply saddened to share, Marvin passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Medicine Hat at the age of 71 years.
Marvin was born in Fort Macleod on April 8, 1954, and was predeceased by his parents, Reno and Margaret Mensaghi. He was the middle sibling to his older brother, Ron Mensaghi and his younger sister, Lorie (Mark) Filatoff.
Marvin studied business at SAIT and began a lengthy, successful career in the banking industry focused on agricultural and greenhouse lending. He was a highly respected business leader in Medicine Hat, known for his sharp mind and astute advice always sought after by his many clients and associates through the years.
On December 11, 1982, Marvin married his love Colleen, recently celebrating 43 years of marriage. They shared a wonderful life together raising their three children in Medicine Hat: Trina (Jim) Balkwill, Aaron (Katina) Munro and Harmony (William) Swan. He was a proud grandfather to Taylor (Ken) Kelley, Cassidy (Braiden) Munro, Connor, Elizabeth, and Liam Balkwill; and Savannah, William, Amelia, and Abram Swan as well as a great-grandfather to Emerson and Ellie Munro.
Blessed with an incredible sense of humour, Marvin was a true jokester. He had a natural way of lighting up every room he entered and never forgot a name. He enjoyed cooking, was a car enthusiast and always treasured time spent with his dear Colleen, friends, and family, particularly time out in Waterton and Elkwater.
Marvin touched more lives than he could ever have known. His legacy of enduring relationships and his gift for making people feel truly seen, will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Guided and sustained by his faith throughout his life, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and in the presence of God.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Fernando Genogaling celebrant.
