RAYMOND ADAM GAETZ 1934 ~ 2026 Raymond Adam Gaetz of Medicine Hat, AB passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the age of 91 years. Raymond was born January 23, 1934, in Schuler, AB. He married Gladys on June 24, 1954, and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before her passing. Ray and Gladys enjoyed many years of farming. Some years were hard, and some years were good. Raymond instilled a hard work ethic in all his children. In 1988, Raymond and Gladys retired and began to really enjoy life. He loved to work in the yard with bountiful crops of vegetables that he would share with his kids. He loved to plant trees and roses and go fishing. Their yard was kept perfect. He continued to make whirlybirds and all of his own fishing hooks. You could see him in the neighborhood walking, their Westy Highland terrier, Brandy. Raymond loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and great grandkids. He will be lovingly missed by his family. Raymond was predeceased by his daughter, Hatty; his wife, Gladys of 67 years; and parents, Christian and Mary Gaetz; as well as numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Blaise Gaetz (Lee Caswell); Bernie (Darcy) Frey; Ray (Teresa) Gaetz; grandkids, Jarett and Shelisa Frey, Jennalee and Matthew Dykstra, Zachary and Nessa Gaetz, Tanner Gaetz (Danielle), Kiandra Gaetz (Deagen); great grandchildren, Paxton Frey, Rylee Frey, and Freya Dykstra. The funeral service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Father Fernando Genogaling, Celebrant.
