With deep love and gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Bernice Harrison on February 21, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and raised on a farm near Briercrest, Bernice carried the strength, resilience, and work ethic of prairie life with her wherever she went. Those early years shaped the capable, generous, and steady woman so many came to rely on.
Later in life, with determination and quiet courage, Bernice pursued her calling to become a Registered Nurse in Regina, Sask. Nursing was not just a profession to her, it was an extension of who she was. For 30 years in Medicine Hat, Alberta, she cared for others with compassion, dignity, and unwavering dedication. Her life was defined by service, and she gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly.
Community mattered deeply to her. As an active member of her condo’s Committee, Bernice was often the first to welcome newcomers, helping them feel at home and guiding them through the ins and outs of their new surroundings. When the seasons changed, she was there, decorating, organizing, lending a hand, making life brighter for everyone around her.
Above all, Bernice’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kimberly Bauer; her son, Ryan Harrison; and her beloved grandchildren, Brixton Harrison, Jude Harrison, Nate Bauer, and Cole Bauer, who were a constant source of pride and love. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Schick, and her sister, Christine Hutchinson.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Dora Schick; her brother, Douglas Schick; and her sister, Geraldine Rettger.
Bernice will be remembered for her steady strength, her generous heart, her creativity, and her quiet but powerful way of caring for others. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the family she nurtured, the friends she welcomed, and the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Condolences may be made atwww.gracememorial.com. Arrangements are made by
