MATTHIAS “MATT” WOEHR
April 6th, 1961 March 21st, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matthias “Matt” Woehr, beloved husband, father, Opi, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Matt passed away peacefully as the sun was rising, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sheila; his children, Jordan and Hannah; and all who were privileged to know him. Matt was known for his incredible ability to fix and create anything he set his mind to. Whether working on home renovations, copper work, or repairing a broken toy, he approached every task with care and precision. If he did not know how to do something, he would learn and do it exceptionally well. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to others.
Matt had a variety of interests including motorcycling, sailing, fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and camping. But above all else, Matt valued time with his family, always ensuring others were cared for. He will be remembered for his humility, his sense of humour, and his willingness to help anyone in need. Even during difficult times, Matt faced each day with strength, positivity, and grace. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of life come & go will be held in the Terrace Room, Chinook Village, Medicine Hat from 2 – 4 PM on Saturday, March 28th, 2026.In lieu of flowers, donations in Matt’s memory may be made to the Moses – Mueller Compassionate Patient Support Foundation or Covenant Foundation Carmel Hospice.
