JENSEN-WRIGHT, Marsha
Posted: July 3rd, 2026 JENSEN-WRIGHT MARSHA (MO) MARIE JENSEN WRIGHT passed away unexpectedly at the age of 72 years, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, compassion, and unwavering love and devotion to her family and community.
Born on November 5, 1953, Marsha was the beloved daughter of the late Blanche and Dewain Jensen.
While attending Rick’s College in Rexburg, ID, Marsha faced one of her greatest challenges when she experienced kidney failure. Following a successful kidney transplant, she demonstrated remarkable resilience and continued to pursue her education at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, earning an outstanding 4.0 GPA. Later, she returned to BYU to complete her teaching certification.
Mo dedicated many years to teaching special education. She loved teaching and always saidit was the best job she ever had. Yet, the most important decision she ever made was leaving her “really good job” in order to become a mother through adoption. Her and her husband, Harvey, lovingly adopted their three sons – Trenten, Travis, and Gunnar – who became the greatest joy in her life. Above every accomplishment, Mo’s most notable role was that of “Mother”.
She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Sebastian, Ellie, Rexten, and Hunter. Her grandchildren brought immense happiness in her life.
Mo shared her life with her husband, Harvey Wright, for 43 years. She treasured every opportunity to create memories with her family. She especially loved pulling the family trailer somewhere every summer. Her favourite spots were Fernie, BC and Silverwood in Idaho. She could also always find a beautiful lake nearby as she loved kayaking, her favourite past-time.
Mo was a passionate supporter of the performing arts and devoted more than 40 years to the Cardston Community Theatre. Throughout those decades, she faithfully served as Board member, Director, and Past President, helping enrich the cultural life of her community while mentoring and encouraging generations of performers.
Service was the hallmark of Marsha’s life. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she faithfully served in numerous callings throughout her life. Her favourite calling was serving as Young Women’s leader, where she loved teaching, encouraging, and uplifting the young women with her testimony. Her motto was, “Girls just want to have fun.”
Her dedication to the community expanded when she was elected as Town Councillor. She served as Councillor for the past 4 years, striving to make her community a better place through thoughtful leadership and genuine care for others.
Marsha is lovingly remembered by her husband, Harvey Wright; her 3 sons, Trenten (Nikki) Wright, Travis (Savannah) Wright, and Gunnar Wright; her 4 cherished grandchildren, Sebastian, Ellie, Rexten, and Hunter Wright; her 2 sisters, Wendy (Rick) West of Cardston, AB and Brenda (Leonard) Browne of Eugene, Oregon; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Dewain Jensen, and her brother in-law, Peter Coombs.
Those who knew Marsha will remember her strength in the face of adversity, her fearlessness, resiliency, generous heart, steadfast faith, love of theatre, and her remarkable ability to love and value everyone around her. Her life was one of quiet courage, selfless service, and enduring love – a legacy that will continue through her family and all whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Friends may meet the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cardston Alberta Stake Centre (338 5th Ave. E.), Cardston, AB, on Friday, July 3 from 10:00-10:45 am. The funeral will commence at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
