IRVIN DUCHCHERER 1941 ~ 2026
Irvin Ivan Duchcherer of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Leona Duchcherer, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 84 years. Irv was born on August 25, 1941, near Maidstone, Saskatchewan. He spent his career with AGT in telecommunications working in communities across Alberta before returning to Redcliff. Retirement didn’t slow him down. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring trailers, renovating homes, travelling, camping, fishing, golfing, and cruising with Leona. Known by family as “MacGyver”, he had a remarkable ability to repair, build or improve just about anything. Irv and Leona were especially grateful for the 26 extra years his heart transplant gave him to share with Leona, his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his hard work, curious mind, and the love he shared with his family. He is survived by his brother, Roger (Darlene) Duchcherer; two children, Terry (Tina) Duchcherer of Hanna; and Vicki (Murray) Trollope of Medicine Hat; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The celebration of life will take place in the TERRACE ROOM AT CHINOOK VILLAGE on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Church officiating.
