MURIEL LILLIAN OLIPHANT 1931 ~ 2026 Mrs. Muriel Lillian Oliphant of Medicine Hat passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 94 years. Muriel leaves to cherish her memory four children, David (Lucie) Oliphant, Robert (Jacqui) Oliphant, Brian (Vicki) Oliphant, all of Medicine Hat, and Debbie (Jim) Vickers of Winnipeg; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, David George Oliphant; one daughter, Donna Shopland; and her parents, Charles and Lillian Folkins. Muriel was born on December 9, 1931, in Lethbridge. She married Dave in 1952, and they lived in Fort St. John, St. Paul, and Yellowknife before returning to Medicine Hat in 1961. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Tiger season ticket holder from the first year that they were a club and enjoyed cheering on her Tigers no matter how the team was doing. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and doing puzzles. She lived independently in her own home until she passed. A private family service will be held at the graveside.
