Slenders Vercammen The Slenders Vercammen families are saddened to announce Riek’s passing at the age of 89 years in Brooks, Alberta. A loving woman, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, Oma and friend, she inspired all who came to know her with her joy, limitless selflessness, kindness, charity, resilience and strength. Riek was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, John Slenders and several of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 29 years Peter Vercammen. Family and friends will keep her warm memories in their hearts. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday July 31st at 12:00 PM from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Kelvin Chukwurah Celebrant.
