HEIGHINGTON, Wayne

HEIGHINGTON It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of WAYNE ALBERT HEIGHINGTON, born January 25, 1950, who passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on August 19, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Elfiede Heighington; children: Timothy Heighington (Sheri-Lynn), Kathy Kremenik (Matt Robinson) and Ivan Heighington; and grandchildren: Austin, Jayden, Scarlet, Hunter, Maddison, Hannah, and Bruce; as well as his siblings in Ontario.
He was predeceased by his parents, and older brother.
Wayne was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and moved to Lethbridge in 1983. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of many associations. He spent countless years teaching Hunter education and PAL courses to many. His knowledge for guns went beyond classroom teaching. He loved to fix and repair them for others, and enjoyed target shooting and hunting. Along with Fish & Game, he also spent 17 years volunteering on the Fort Whoop-Up Interpretive Society board.
Wayne will be missed by all who knew him. Until we meet again, love you now and forever.
