In Loving Memory Of JOHN WEATHERHEAD March 11, 1941 ~ August 16, 2026
John Weatherhead passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB., at the age of 85 years. Born in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England, he immigrated to Canada in 1952, beginning a life defined by resilience, opportunity and deep devotion to family.
John married the love of his life, Josie, and together they raised three sons: Randy (deceased 2008), Jamie (Cathy) and Jeremy (Dawn). He was a proud grandfather to Sierra, Kaitlyn, Kierra and Maddox, cherishing every moment spent with them.
For nearly 35 years, John was a beloved mathematics teacher who inspired generations with his patience, clarity and genuine passion for learning. Outside the classroom, he was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, curling and pickle ball while also attending Tiger hockey games; all pursuits that reflected his sharp mind and warm, social spirit.
John was predeceased by his sister, Sally and brother, Richard. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Susan (Allan), Marion (Jamie), Pat (Karen), Vivien (Dick) and Gillian (Joe).
He will be remembered for his gentle humour, thoughtful nature and the quiet wisdom he carried throughout his life. John’s presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
A life well-lived, a family well-loved, and a legacy that endures.

One Condolence for “JOHN WEATHERHEAD”

  1. Kathi Van says:

I had Mr Weatherhead at ALEXANDRA Jr High for Gr 9 Math and Science.. It was his second year of teaching and we all loved him. Math and Science were never quite same after that year. The best memory was the day he was showing us how fires start in places like flour and lumber mills. We ended up having the fire truck screaming up to the school as the alarm was set off by the don’t do this at home sample. Soooo very funny. What a teacher he was!
