FAST, Maynard
Posted: August 29th, 2026 Maynard Bruce Fast Aug. 21, 1958 – Aug. 14, 2026 Maynard led a life filled with love, laughter and a dedication to his family. Maynard passed away at home on Aug 14, 2026, seven days before his 68th birthday.
Maynard will be remembered by his loving wife Jan. They shared a wonderful life together during their 40 years of marriage. Together they raised two sons that they are very proud of, Mike (Bailey Ross ) of Fernie and Erik (Shaelyn Constant) of Coalhurst, along with their precious grandchildren, Henry Gill and Margaret Fast. Maynard took immense pride in being Papa to his two cherished grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter.
Throughout his life, Maynard was known for his unforgettable spirit, his sense of humour and his kind and generous heart. He was a true friend. He enjoyed sharing stories, engaging in lively discussions and nurturing the bonds he held dear. Maynard lived life to the fullest. He inspired those around him by the way he lived his life.
Maynard served with the Lethbridge Police service from 1980 until his retirement in 2005. He was dedicated and talented investigator, respected by colleagues for his professionalism, his steady presence and his commitment to the work.
Maynard will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering love and the lasting impact he had on everyone he met.
Maynard is predeceased by his parents, Abe (2000) and Sara (2000) his youngest sister Wanda Fast (2003) his sister Shirley Dyck (2016) and brother-in-law Jim Dyck (2017). and niece Jasmine Fast (2025)
Maynard is survived by his mother-in-law Carol Simpson of Lethbridge. Four of his siblings; Don Fast of Herbert, Saskatchewan; Gary (Lydia) Fast of Medicine Hat, AB; Randall (Linda) Fast of Gouldtown, Saskatchewan. Lorna Fast (Gary Frey) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and his sister-in-law Bev Fast. As well as numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
In keeping with Maynard’s wishes, he will be remembered by his family at a private service. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Maynard donations can be made to Alberta.cmha.ca/donate
