WENDY MACDIARMID December 1, 1967 ~ August 20, 2026
With light hearts and heavy love, we share the passing of Wendy Elizabeth Macdiarmid (age 58) in Medicine Hat. She was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Wendy was beautiful, she brought a contagious sparkle, warmth, and mischief everywhere she went. She truly left an impact on anyone and everyone she met, always looking forward to life’s little glimmers. Wendy was funny, passionate, personably vibrant, and endlessly generous. Wendy loved to be goofy and enjoyed a good prank.
Her passions were as colorful as her spirit: she loved baking, crafting, tending to her plants, collecting crystals, decorating (a little too much when it came to stenciling and wallpaper), shopping, and anything related to Tinkerbell, fairytales, and Disney princesses. She loved any and all animals, especially “tiny, cute, furry” ones, and adored her beloved dogs Levi, Wrangler, Lola, and Buddy.
Wendy also cheered loudly for her favourite sports teams, including The Riders, Blue Jays, watching curling with her Mom, and hockey.
Professionally, Wendy was a force to be reckoned with. She successfully ran her own division at TTI, spent years in retail and jewelry, and had a celebrated a career at The Brick, where she was repeatedly recognized as a top performer. More than her accolades, she cherished the lifelong friendships she forged throughout her career there.
Wendy lived for “Christmas in all its wonder,” which she lovingly stretched into what felt like six months a year. She delighted in trips to the butterfly house, and every moment spent surrounded by those she loved; her three beautiful girls, her family and her friends.
Wendy is survived by Duncan Macdiarmid, high school sweetheart, her best friend and the love of her life of 43 years; her children, Ashly Carolan (Paul), Kyly Houde (Mike), and Haily Macdiarmid (Brant); her cherished grandchildren, Dash and Ember Houde; her siblings, Tom Kondra (Peggy), Bob Kondra (Colleen), and Joan Stefanuk (Dave); as well as her beloved nieces, nephew, Sharla Kondra (Grayson and Nickson), Jenn Enns (Keith & JJ), Erica Kondra, Kristin Shaw (Steve, Zoey & Hayden), Cole Kondra (Amanda and Anna), Amanda Stefanuk (Cierra & Lexi), Jamie Stefanuk (Sarah, Sadie & Ethan) and Jenni, through thick and thin, she was a constant for Wendy and is family by choice.
She was reunited in peace with her parents, Peter and Petrunella (Pat) Kondra; her in-laws, Bruce and Gail Macdiarmid; her brother-in-law, Jaret Macdiarmid; her son-in-law, Brandon Niwa; and her niece, Melissa Stefanuk.
