FLORENCE LEECH

1932 ~ FLORENCE LEECH ~ 2026 Florence Leech passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the age of 93 years. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Nancy (Myles) Gray, William (Jane) Leech, Marcia Montean, and Jackie (Anton) Venter; grandchildren, Danny (Lucy) Gray, Rachel (Scott) MacPherson, Haley (Ricky) Moreno, Liam Leech, Cory (Melissa) Montean, Karri (Bret) Jenkins, Bryce Huston, Mariah Huston, and Erica Huston and 12 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Garnet; parents, Matilda and Jacob Pfeifer; and siblings, Norma Bowen, Ruth Cote, Ruby Williamson, Jim Pfeifer, and Bert Pfeifer. After her schooling, Mom received her nursing certificate and worked at the Empress Hospital, the Medicine Hat Hospital, and finally at Riverview Care Center. Mom worked hard on the ranch and continued on the acreage outside of Medicine Hat. She was a terrific cook; we could stop in anytime for fresh baking. She was a very proud mother and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face. Unfortunately, Mom developed Alzheimer’s a few years ago, but her good humour lasted until the end.
