ROGER LIBOIRON
Posted: September 5th, 2026 1949 – ROGER LIBOIRON – 2026 It is with profound sadness; we announce the passing of Roger Liboiron of Medicine Hat at the age of 77 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Bobby and Yvonne Liboiron and his twin at birth. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Irene Wilson; sister, Adele (Morris) Laventure; brother, Emile (Anna Marie) Liboiron; as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will also be missed by a very special person in this life, Tom Miner. Roger was born in Michel, BC on January 16,1949. He grew up in Ponteix, SK, then moved on to many areas for work and to teach. His next journey took him to Regina where he worked for the Federal Government of Canada. In 1978, he moved to Ottawa for a new position with the government and remained there until his retirement in 2005. After retirement he moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to family. Roger had a passion for helping others and became heavily involved in Big Brothers in Regina. When he moved to Ottawa he continued the quest. Though he was never a biological parent he was a father figure to many. To this day Tom calls him dad. Roger had many health issues throughout his life but he was always known for his MC skills at weddings and always had a joke for everyone when they spoke. He always joked that Anna was his favorite sister-in-law even though she was his only one. He valued time spent with family and friends. Rest in Peace Roger. We will miss you. A memorial service for Roger will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
