TEDESCO January 20, 1950 – September 6, 2026 RICHARD C. TEDESCO, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
Rick was the third son born to Michael (Mack) and Ethel Tedesco, he followed Don and Bill and preceded Alf and Maxine. He was right in the middle where he preferred to be but always off to one side, listening intently to the conversation and interjecting just the right comment at just the right time. Everyone loved Rick – he was a popular figure around the University of Lethbridge (known as “the plant guy”) and when he found himself at St. Therese Villa in later years, he was known as the “guy with the million-dollar smile”. Rick spent lots of time with Don and Ronnie’s family (Lisa, Tony, Terry-Lynn and Darcy) and had a special bond with Darcy’s youngest daughter Cherry, starting with being designated “buddies” when they travelled to Disneyland. Rick also really enjoyed spending time with Bill and Bobbi and their girls (Heather-Anne and Allyn), playing all kinds of games and sharing his true love of dogs. Alf & Rick always had each other’s backs and Maxine simply adored her big brother.
Rick’s band of angels (Ava, Diane, Steph, Jackie & Michelle) were a godsend set of very caring caregivers who made his time at St. Therese Villa just that much better. They worked hand-in-hand with the competent staff who always seemed to go a little above and beyond when it came to Rick.
We’ll all dearly miss Rick but know he’s up in heaven with his mom and dad as well as Ronnie, Terry-Lynn and all our Tedesco and Bartlett relatives that have already passed listening to their conversations and chiming in at just the right moments.
There will not be a funeral at Rick’s request. If desired, donations in Rick’s name can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories (alzheimer.ca/ab/) or a dog-related charity of your choice.
