DELLA HEADGE
February 3, 1951 ~ August 11, 2026
Mrs. Della Headge (nee Bennett) passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 75 years.
Della will be forever missed by her family in Newfoundland: nieces, Vanessa (John) Muise and Mary Young (Nicholas Young); nephews, Victor Duval and Ambrose Duval (Cherie Russell); brother, Harold (Sharon) Bennett and their son, Jason; brother, Danny (Dianne) Bennett and their family as well as a circle of loving friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Bennett and Mary Bennett (nee Lee); sister, Linda Duval (July 13, 2026); brother-in-law, Gerald Duval and nephew, Kenneth Bennett.
Della loved people, and was always very social and kind. She spent her early years and young adult life caring for children as a Nanny before moving on to become a fulltime housekeeper in her adult life. Getting all ‘dolled up’ was Della’s motto in life: “Always look your best and dress like it is your last day alive.” She always had a positive outlook, even though she struggled with medical and mobility issues throughout her life, especially in her later years when she did not go out much at all. It became especially difficult for Della after she lost her loving partner, Ervin, due to cancer; but she never lost her spirit.
Some of her favourite things she loved included the colour pink, her beautiful long nails, her old country roses dishes and of course, her pearls. Most importantly, even though she lived far away from family and old friends for over 45 years, she always made it known that she loved her family.
Much loved and never forgotten. Always in our hearts.
