MIKADO, Susie

SUSIE FUMIYE MIKADO March 26, 1924 – September 6, 2026 Susie passed away on September 6, 2026, at the Good Samaritan’s Lodge in Magrath, Alberta, at the age of 102.
She was predeceased by her husband Doug, her parents Ushiye and Bungoro Minamide, her brother John and his wife Sumiye. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Susie was born in Mayne Island, BC, on March 26, 1924. She moved with her family to Magrath, AB, in 1942 as a result of the Japanese evacuation from the coast.
Susie worked at the Magrath Trading Co. in the Hardware Department for many years until her retirement in 1989.
Her retirement years were spent travelling and golfing on Wednesdays with a special group of ladies called The Sunshine Girls. She spent many hours gardening and taking care of her beautiful flowers and cursing the deer who enjoyed the fruits of her labor.
A big thank you to the staff at Garden Vista for the kindness shown to Susie.
There will be no public funeral. Flowers and Koden are gratefully declined.
