Dr. Douglas Bigelow Miller February 3, 1946 – September 5, 2026 It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Douglas Bigelow Miller announces his passing on September 5, 2026, at the age of 80.
Doug was predeceased earlier this year by his beloved wife, Anne Winter Miller, who passed away on February 6, 2026. Together, Doug and Anne built a life centred around family and friendship.
Doug attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where he studied dentistry. He began his career as a general dentist in Montreal before moving with his family to Lethbridge, Alberta, in 1978. He practised dentistry in Lethbridge until his retirement, caring for generations of patients throughout his career.
Doug was a devoted father to his sons, Ian (Jacinta) and Colin (Laura), and a proud grandfather to Aidan (Gillian), Gabriel, Blake (Bailey), Nate, and Addison. He was also looking forward to welcoming two great-grandchildren. His family was an important part of his life, and the memories they created together will be deeply cherished.
Throughout his years in Lethbridge, Doug was involved in many local organizations and was an active part of the community. Waterton Lakes National Park was also a place he particularly loved.
Doug will be deeply missed by his family and friends. After losing Anne only months ago, his family takes comfort in knowing they are together again.
A private family funeral will be held to honour Doug’s life.
