1949 ~ GARY HICKLING ~ 2026 Gary Albert Hickling of Medicine Hat, AB, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 76 years. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Judy; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend, Garry (Marlene), whom the family would like to thank for all their support. Gary is predeceased by his parents, James and Dorothy Hickling; sister, Janice; and nephew, Jimmy. He missed his parents and sister Janice very much. Gary worked as a reporter, journalist and editor at many daily and weekly newspapers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He was also a published author. He had a Bachelor of Arts from Ryerson University (now known as Toronto Metropolitan University). He enjoyed his hobbies of playing his PlayStation, reading, and writing. At the family’s request, no Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
