TUFF It is with profound sorrow we announce that Maurice George Tuff, beloved husband of Ila Tuff, passed away at the age of 93 on September 15, 2026 at Raymond, Alberta.
Morrie was born on January 31, 1933 in Warner, Alberta to George and Lillian Tuff. He grew up in Warner where he met his wife of 72 years, Ila June Shaffer, and after being married they stayed for a short while before moving to Lethbridge where he began a lifelong career in sales, ending his career at Beaver Lumber in Lethbridge. They worked together to create a beautiful and happy home for their family. He loved to travel, which they did as much as possible.
He is survived by his loving wife Ila, children Terri (Ben), Barry (Maureen), Shane (Shelley) and Fraser (Christy), as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, sister-in-Law Jean Hirsche, brother-in-law Martin Gurney, many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Morrie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Having family around him was his joy. He made everybody feel special and loved. He loved to visit with friends and strangers. He will be in our hearts forever and missed every day.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, GARDEN PLACE CHAPEL at 2:00 pm, 170 Centre Street North, Magrath, AB. Interment will be prior to the Service at the Warner Cemetery, Monday, September 21 at 11:00am (located off Range Rd 173, Warner, AB). All are welcome.
Friends and family may also pay their respects during a viewing to be held on Sunday, September 20, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the GARDEN PLACE CHAPEL. 170 Centre Street North. Magrath.
