JOHN SCHAPANSKY 1932 ~ 2026 John “Jack” Schapansky of Airdrie, AB, beloved husband of the late Bette Schapansky, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 94 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Darren (Lorraine) Schapansky of Abbotsford, BC and Marina Cumming of Airdrie; two grandchildren, Matthew Schapansky and Emori Cumming. He was predeceased by his father, Henry Schapansky: his mother, Mary (Schapansky) Jakubowsky; his stepfather, Julius Jakubowsky, and his son-in-law, Graeme Cumming. Jack and Bette were married in Edmonton in April 1958 and moved to Medicine Hat in 1974. In 1997, Jack and Bette settled in Airdrie.
