TSCHETTER HANK TSCHETTER, of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
Hank was a determined man who forged his own path through courage, perseverance, and hard work. At just 15 years old, he left home with two dollars in his pocket and faced the future with remarkable resolve. Over the years, he built several businesses and created a fulfilling life through his own efforts.
For several years, Hank worked in concrete, spending long days on his hands and knees pouring and shaping the foundations on which others would build. Though demanding, the work reflected the strength, resourcefulness, and resilience that guided him throughout his life.
In 1969, Hank married the love of his life Maribeth Bennett. Although they later separated and divorced, their bond endured, and they remained best friends until Hank’s passing – a testament to the depth of their connection.
Outside of work, Hank enjoyed sports and spent several years umpiring, sharing his knowledge of the game and contributing to the sporting community he valued. He was especially passionate about baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Hank was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand. Through practical help, steady support, and simple acts of kindness, he made a lasting difference in the lives of those around him.
In February 2026, Hank was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout his treatment, he faced the challenge with determination and never complained, demonstrating the strength of character that defined him.
Hank will be lovingly remembered by Maribeth; his granddaughter, Emily, his close brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Rosa Tschetter; and his remaining brothers and sisters and their families. He was predeceased by his beloved son Travis, his parents, and his brother George.
His memory will live on in the lives of those he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11:00am with Pat Siedlecki officiating. A Viewing will be held prior to the service, starting at 10:00am.
Hank will be laid to rest during a Private Family Graveside Service at Mountain View Cemetery.
