RHONDA JEAN CLEVELAND
October 13, 1961 – September 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhonda Jean Cleveland, on September 28, 2026, at the age of 64.
Rhonda was the first-born daughter of Doug and Doreen Cleveland. Born and raised in Swift Current, SK, she grew up attending Dixon School, Elmwood School, and Beattie Collegiate.
In 1980, Rhonda moved to Medicine Hat, where she began a new chapter of her life and raised her two sons, Curtis and Brett. She spent many years working at IGA before pursuing her education as an Educational Assistant. She went on to work at Webster Niblock School and later at Redi Enterprises Society.
In 2010, Rhonda moved to British Columbia to be with her longtime love, Brian Hodgson, with whom she shared many cherished years.
If you knew Rhonda, you knew there was no such thing as a quick conversation. She was a spitfire, with a personality that could fill a room. She loved to talk, loved to laugh, and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
Rhonda was also a woman of strong faith. She carried that faith throughout her life and found comfort and strength in her relationship with God.
Her boys, Curtis and Brett, were at the heart of her world. And when her grandchildren came along, they quickly became another source of love and pride. Ebbet, Magdalena, and Cooper brought so much joy to her life.
Rhonda was predeceased by her beloved sister, Jaqueline Gaetz (Cleveland).
She leaves behind her parents, Doug and Doreen Cleveland; her sons, Curtis Cleveland (Janine) and Brett Cleveland (Kaleigh); her cherished grandchildren, Ebbet, Magdalena, and Cooper; her longtime partner, Brian Hodgson; her niece, Brittany Barker (Keagan); and her nephew, Anthony Gaetz-Carlson (Devon), her aunt Dianne Braun (Dennis), as well as extended family and friends whose lives she touched along the way.
Rhonda will be remembered for her big heart, her love for her family, her strong faith, and her gift of gab. Rhonda’s immediate family will gather together in her memory at a private service in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
