COOPER, Glenys
Posted: October 16th, 2026 Glenys Aileen Cooper November 19, 1939 – October 6, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Glenys Cooper (née Hughes) on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the age of 86. She passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, with family present, at Seasons West in Lethbridge (Alberta).
Mom was born to parents Ernest and Hazel Hughes on November 19, 1939, in Oshawa (Ontario).
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Rev. Richard Cooper; parents, Ernest and Hazel; brothers, Harold (Gwendoline), Giles (Jeanette), Eric (Dorothy) and Ronald (Catherine); brother-in-law, William Bowler. She is survived by her sister, Mary Bowler.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons: Craig (Karen), Scott, Brent (Roxanne), and Darren (Darlene); along with 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mom and Dad faithfully served in ministry in Quebec, Ontario, NWT, Alberta and Manitoba. They served with grace and kindness, with mom assuming many leadership roles in the church. She has been described as a sweet, kind, gracious, beautiful woman, who had a smile that never seemed to fade, the kind of woman you never forgot, once you spent time with her. She had a way of making people feel special and encouraged in their life and walk with God. She was a woman of faith and prayer who prayed for many during her lifetime. Mom loved to read and play piano.
Though we will miss her greatly, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with our late father whom she has missed these past 24 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at WESTSIDE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 480 McMaster Blvd. W, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, November 19, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
