WANDA RIEDLHUBER 1938 ~ 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Mrs. Wanda Riedlhuber announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on September 20, 2026, at the age of 87 years surrounded by family and a room full of love.
Wanda was born on October 27, 1938, in Poland, and lived a life defined by hard work, strength, generosity, and an unwavering love of her family.
Wanda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Otto, who passed away on August 16, 2026, just 35 days before her. Married for nearly 70 years, Wanda and Otto shared a lifetime of love, commitment, and companionship. Together, they built a home, raised their family, and created a legacy of cherished memories that will continue for generations.
Wanda was an exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful, loving, and generous woman. Wanda knew the meaning of hard work. She possessed a strong work ethic as a labourer for over 30 years at Trans Canada Freezers and York Farms. It was demanding work, and she approached it with the same strength, determination, and commitment that she brought to the rest of her life.
Outside of work, Wanda enjoyed travelling, gardening, and baking. She particularly enjoyed making her cookies and chocolate cream pie at Christmas, which became an instant family hit and fresh blueberry pie in the summer that she would make for her family in Lethbridge. Her love of baking was just one of the many ways she brought warmth and happiness to those around her.
Above all else, Wanda’s greatest joy was her family.
Wanda leaves behind her two sons, Dan Riedlhuber and Jim (Connie-Marie) Riedlhuber; her cherished grandsons Travis (Charli) Riedlhuber, Adam (Jazmine) Riedlhuber, and Jesse Riedlhuber (Nicole); and her three beloved and beautiful great-grandchildren Molly, Henry, and Stella.
Wanda is also survived by her brother Joe (Barb) Jaworski and her sister Barbara (Gary) Richardson.
Wanda took tremendous pride and joy in her grandsons. Spending time with them was one of the greatest pleasures, and she was well known for spoiling them every chance she had. Her love was expressed through her kindness, generosity, and the countless little things she did to make those around her feel special. As her family grew to include great grandchildren, she welcomed another generation to love and cherish.
Losing both Wanda and Otto within such a short period has brought tremendous sadness to our family. Yet there is comfort in reflecting on the extraordinary life they shared for nearly seven decades and the enduring love that connected them.
Mom, Grandma, and great Grandma, thank you for your unconditional love, your generosity, and the wonderful memories you have given us. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
We can’t express enough of our sincerest gratitude to the incredible and loving caregivers at St. Therese Villa, whom Wanda loved so much.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Cheryl Hudak officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Therese Villa, 253 Southgate Blvd S, Lethbridge, AB T1K 2S1, or the Interfaith food bank, 1103 3 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB T1H 0H7.
