SANTANGELO It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of VINCENZA SANTANGELO, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Claudino Santangelo, at St. Therese Villa on Monday, September 28, 2026 at the age of 98 years. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and aunt.
Vincenza was born on December 1, 1927 in Pontaletone, Italy. She married the love of her life, Claudino Santangelo, on February 12, 1953, and were married for 55 years. In 1966, they immigrated to Canada with their four children and made Lethbridge their home.
Vincenza worked for many years as a seamstress for Ducan Industries. Her greatest joy was having her family and friends over to enjoy all her wonderful meals of homemade bread and pasta dishes.
Vincenza is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael (Tina) Santangelo and their children Brian (Shauna), Jennifer (Tyler), and great-grandchildren Saydee, Ellie and Adalyn, Christina (Matthew) and great-grandson Jax; son Dominic (Patti) Santangelo and their children Tammy (Jerry) and great-grandchildren Addisen and Caydence, and grandson Jamie (Michael); daughter Maria (Bill) Weiler and their children Amanda (Craig), Tania (Brett) great-grandson Brooks, grandson Derek Weiler, and grandson Mike (Maritess) Francescone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband, Claudino, Vincenza was predeceased by her daughter Lucia and son-in-law Ralph Francescone, an infant daughter, parents Pietro and Maria Izzo, and six brothers and sisters.
Rest in peace Mamma/Nonna. You will be forever in our hearts.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Santiago Torres celebrating.
Vincenza will be laid to rest in Queens Park Cemetery, Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 12:00 Noon.
