SHEROLYN CAMERON April 9th, 1963 – October 19th, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sherolyn Cameron, whose life was guided by faith, compassion and a genuine desire to help others.
Sherolyn was born on April 9th, 1963, to parents, Donald and Evelyn Ward in Cereal, Alberta. She passed away on Monday, October 19th, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the age of 63 years.
Sherolyn leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Ronnilee (J.J.) Herman; niece, Shayla (Nick) Herman; nephews, Walker Herman, Westin Herman (Isolde Lowry) and brother, Dwayne Ward. Sherolyn is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Sherolyn was predeceased by her father, Donald Ward, August 23rd, 2002, and her mother, Evelyn Ward, November 12th, 2017; and infant nephew, Donald John Herman on June 28th, 2005.
Sherolyn had a love for natural products and healing ways. It was no secret that she was not a supporter of conventional medicine. In 2017, she opened her own store downtown on 3rd Street in Medicine Hat, Alberta. It was called Attest To Health and it proved to be a source of health knowledge and healing for many who walked through the door. It was not uncommon to find Sherolyn there six days a week, a place she truly called home. Over the years, she formed a particularly special bond with many Hutterite colonies who came to her for trusted health advice and in turn, showed their appreciation through countless acts of kindness. Often arriving with homemade bread, preserves, garden vegetables, sausages, or one of her favourites….knitted slippers made especially for her. Sherolyn’s love for drawing was always in the background and most recently she had created greeting cards with her own artwork. One of her most memorable artistic projects was drawing and bringing to life the “Finding Nemo” characters for her niece’s seventh birthday party. Her artwork was incredible, and those special drawings and greeting cards are still treasured by her family today. Although Sherolyn was never blessed with children of her own, her niece and two nephews were such an important part of her life. She loved them dearly, was so proud of each of them, and treasured their special bond.
Sherolyn had an unconditional love for Jesus like none other. She continued to be faithful and devoted despite the devastating health crisis she was experiencing. Not once did she ever complain or feel sorry for herself. In fact, she was more concerned for the people around her and even performed hand reflexology on a nurse at St. Joseph’s Home the night before she passed away.
Sherolyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the way she always put the needs of others before her own. She had a special gift for making people feel cared for, heard, and loved. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but the love, kindness and faith she shared will live on in the many lives she touched. As Sherolyn’s illness progressed and her need for care became greater, it was the exceptional Home Care nurses that tended to her needs with kindness and compassion. The care and support they showed her during that difficult time will always be remembered. The journey for Sherolyn was not an easy one, and eventually she was admitted to St. Joseph’s Home. The compassion and support that she received from the palliative care team was outstanding. A sincere thank you to all the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph’s Home who made her feel welcome and loved. She certainly brought plenty of personality with her, from her endless belongings to her insistence on taking selfies with the nurses. A special “thank you” as well to the food services team at St. Joseph’s Home. She was not hesitant to ask for what she wanted. We are sure the daily request for “three poached eggs and four packets of ketchup please” will be forever remembered.
Sherolyn had previously organized her own “Living Celebration” so there will be no further service. Those wishing to donate in Sherolyn’s memory may kindly contact St. Joseph’s Home at 403-526-3818 to contribute in her honour. Sherolyn cherished many heartfelt phone calls from her dear friends and as a tribute from her loving friend, Justina: “Goodnight Sherolyn…goodnight…have a good rest…the Lord be with you tonight…Amen.”
