MATHEWSON It is with profound sadness that the family of William James Mathewson (Bill), announce his passing on September 21, 2026, after a valiant fight with brain cancer. Throughout his journey, Bill faced every challenge with incredible strength, courage, and determination. While cancer was part of his final chapter, it was never what defined him. He was above all a loving husband, father, and brother whose family was his greatest source of pride and joy.
His legacy is not the illness he battled, but the love he gave, the lives he touched, the stability he showed to his family and friends he leaves behind.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, stability, humor, and countless little moments that made him special to those who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Melissa; his children Samantha, Serena, Madyson, and William; his siblings; and other family and friends who love and miss him dearly.
His absence leaves an unimaginable space in our hearts. Yet we will carry him with us – in our memories, in the lessons he taught us, in the laughter we shared, and in the love that will never fade.
The celebration of life will be June 26, 2027, and the location will be at the Zentner Funeral Homes in Claresholm, AB. Everyone is welcome to join us!
