It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Schneider. Ben passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 7, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Ben was born July 6, 1920 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. He served in the Army from 1942 – 1946. Once he returned to Fox Valley he was also known as “The Water Man”, driving school bus, working at the Saskatchewan Minerals Plant all while working on the farm, which always kept him very busy. Ben and Anne moved to Medicine Hat in 1986 and he maintained his active life. Ben will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Anne Schneider; sister, Tina Hubbs; children, Lyle (Sandy) Schneider, Denise (Cordell) Verweire; daughter-in-law, Gwen Schneider; grandchildren Scott, Stacey (Gerren), Chase, Simon, Amanda (Andrew), Krystal (Brent), eight great grandchildren and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his eldest son, Keith and his siblings, Louise, Phillip, Adam, David, Kate, Charlie, George, Pauline, Martha, Freida and Dan. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive S.E., with Pastor Joe Leavengood officiating. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made in Benjamins name to a charity of ones own choice.
