FRANK VANDEN BROEK

Frank Gerard Vanden Broek, beloved husband of Anne Vanden Broek, passed away peacefully in Bow Island on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the age of 83 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1113 – 1 Street East, Bow Island on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1113 – 1 Street East, Bow Island on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. A private burial will follow at the Bow Island Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.southlandfuneral.com.

Frank is survived by his wife Anne; six children Charles Vanden Broek and Carolyn MacDonald of Moose Jaw; John Vanden Broek and Jane Andrew of Burnaby and their children Jamie, Joel and Jeremy (Ruby) and their children Amelia, Eliza and Griffin; Frank and Robyn Vanden Broek of Cranbrook and their children Cody (Sam), Patt and Kara; Rob Vanden Broek and Val Connor of Toronto and their children Jack, Luke and Elise; Pat and Mark MacDonald of High River and their children Broek, Kennedy and Connor; Angela and Doug MacDonald of Calgary and their children Kaitlyn and Kristen. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters in Holland and a large extended family.

Frank was born on January 24, 1936 in Rjjsbergen, Holland. At the age of nineteen, Frank came to Canada settling in southern Alberta. He met his loving wife Anne and together they enjoyed over sixty years of marriage.

For many years he enjoyed life on the farm. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed new ventures. Frank and Anne enjoyed many winters in Arizona, along with travel and time spent with family and friends. Some of his favourite pastimes were golfing, fishing and coffee row with his buddies.
