Henry was born on May 6, 1942 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He grew up in the Monarch area on the family farm and attended school in Monarch and also in Nobleford for a short time. He then worked on the farm until he married Pauline Brandsma on June 10, 1966. They made their home in Lethbridge where he continued to farm for a short while. Henry always worked hard to provide for his family. He spent 20 years in the feed industry where he made many acquaintances and friends – many of whom he continued to associate with in later years. In April of 1989 he returned to farming in the Monarch area where he resided until his passing. Henry’s passion was the auction business, whether it was a fundraising auction, farm or livestock sale – Henry was there and willing to help. He was a self-taught auctioneer and conducted many church and school auctions.  He was a faithful member of the Christian Reformed Church where he served many terms as elder and deacon. His family meant the world to him and his grandchildren brightened his days. He looked forward to family get-togethers and trips away with Mother. Henry was a loving husband, Dad and Opa. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.
