HELEN CATHERINE RODGERS nee CHIEF MOON passed away on Sunday, October 14th, 2012 at the Foothills Hospital after a lengthy illness at the age of 85 years. Born on June 22nd, 1927 in the Blood Indian Hospital on the Blood Reserve.
Beloved daughter of the late Victor & Mary Chief Moon and beloved wife of the late SSgt. Art Rodgers, Princess Patricia Light Infantry.
Survived by her sons, Burt, Ron, John (Ping Wu), and Danny Rodgers. Grandsons Richard, Russell and one grand daughter Crystal. Sisters Linda Bruised Head and Claudia Sugai; aunties Harriett Wells & Beauty Wells; sister-in-law Phyllis Fox-Holy Singer; brother-in-law Bernard Shot Both Sides. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband SSgt. Art Rodgers, grandson Jason Rodgers, parents Victor & Mary Chief Moon; brothers Tom Holy Singer, Leo Chief Moon; sisters, Julia Morgan, Grace, Mona, Ella, Rose & Moyra Chief Moon.
Extended families- Chief Red Crow, Chief Moons, Curly Riders, Tail Feathers, Many Grey Horses, Wells, Pat & Bibian Eagle Child.
The Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, October 19th, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Horne officiating. Interment in the Pioneer Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
