HOPKINS Phyllis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of MRS. PHYLLIS ELOISE HOPKINS (nee Moore), beloved wife of Fred Hopkins and mother to George, Tom, (William and Charlene deceased). Phyllis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Edith Cavell Care Centre at the age of 95 years.
Phyllis, known as Mickey by all her friends and family, was born in Bienfaite, Saskatchewan traveled and lived throughout Canada spending most of her life in Fort Macleod, Lethbridge, and Creston, BC
Phyllis showed great kindness to stray animals and cared for many neglected and stray cats that appeared on her doorstep. Phyllis loved the arts; she danced, sang and was accomplished at painting outdoor scenery. Growing flowers, gardening and raising prize squash filled her summer.
Phyllis was a kind hearted, caring person whose happy personality and love of life touched everyone.
In the last years of her life she spent them at Edith Cavell Care Centre where the staff showed her great care, kindness and affection.
Phyllis will be missed, by her sons Tom and George, daughter-in-law Lorraine; all her grandchildren Brian, Aprille (Pat), Lila, Victoria (Simon); great-grandchildren Katie (Mark), Thomas James (Natalie), Asha and Henry; great-great-grandchildren Abby, Matthew, Jessie and Veronica.
A private service will be held in her honour celebrating her life.

    Sorry to read of Phyllis’ death. I worked some shifts with her at ECCC. Phyllis always had a smile, a story and her cat. Phyllis will be truly missed. She is now in the loving arms of Jesus and is free from all her sufferings.
