It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of GEROME FRANK EAGLE PLUME (Atsi’tsina-Little Owl) & (Awakksoo’pa-Bullet) on December 2nd, 2012 at the Cardston Municipal Hospital at the age of 58 years, surrounded by his loved ones.
He is the beloved husband of Rose Knife; father to Rolanda (PJ), Juanita (Randall), Kelson, Tracy, Vivian, Keshia, Titus (Brittany), Conely (Christy), Amber (Daniel), Neiko, Savannah, Arlene, Alicia, Larissa (Sonny), Terrance; brother to Joanne (Philip) Wolf Child; uncle to nieces Cynthia (Eric), Shanyce, Brooklin, Oceanna, Celsa (Colton), Lana (Lance), Gloria (Randy), Penny, Corrina, Leanne (Medric), Heather (Byron), Nephews, Philip (Angie), JR (Dawn); adopted brothers: Elroy Eagle Plume, Marvin (Beverly) Manychief, Philip Hairy Bull, Duane Crow Chief; adopted sisters Mae (Pete) Tallow, Teresa (Ken) Scout), Mary Louise (Norbert) Fox, Teresa Cross Child, Louise Eagle Plume, Rachel Hoof, Annie Davis, Beverly Hungry Wolf, Bertha (Homer) Black Face; in-laws Maude Black Face, George Knife, Maxine (Jorge); cousins Dale (Sylvia) Low Horn, Margaret (Joe) Knife; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins which include: Little Bears, Long Time Squirrels, Crane Chiefs, Fox’s, Manychief, Young Pine, Kings, Spotted Bulls, Black Plume, Hairy Bulls, Many Feathers, Heavy Shields. Predeceased by his parents Willie and Mary Eagle Plume; uncles Fred Eagle Plume, Dan Crane Chief, Edward Little Bear; brothers Claude Eagle Plume, Sandy Eagle Plume; sisters Alice Black Rabbit, Pauline Three Persons. The Family Apologizes for any names not mentioned.
Frank was born August 27, 1954 at the Blood Indian Hospital to the late Willie Eagle Plume and Mary (Crane Chief) and came from the Many Children Clan and the Little Shawl Clan. As a young man Frank attended St. Mary’s Residential School, next he attended Levern and Glenwood and later went on to High School in Medicine Hat. Frank loved travelling to Yakima Washington with his brother Claude and had stories to tell about his travels. He was very athletic and excelled in many sports including hockey, basketball and fastball. He was musically inclined, playing guitar and singing gospel music for his family and was part of a band called Doors Gospel Singers. Frank was always working, however his longest employment was with Blood Tribe Dept. of Health where he stayed 14 years until his passing. He was a proud supporter for his grandson’s hockey pursuits and travelled to get them to their games. He also volunteered his time for youth activities with Kainaiwa Children Services in 2003-2006. One of Franks favorite pastimes was playing bingo with his sister Joanne, going to Casino with Rose. He loved spending time with his family especially his sister, children and grandchildren. He was excited to welcome 2 great grandchildren in 2013. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. Even when he wasn’t feeling well he would put smiles on our faces. Frank was a kind and humble man. He made friends easily and will be greatly missed and cherished by his family and friends.
A Family Service will be held at LEGACY FUNERAL HOME, Cardston on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Wake Service will be held at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Friday, December 7th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pawel Andrasz, Celebrant. Interment to follow in the Blood Band Cemetery. Feast to follow at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve.
