Posted: December 13th, 2012

MR. JOHN KONYNENBELT of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Rosemary Konynenbelt, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the age of 73 years.
John was born in Lethbridge on November 28, 1939 and grew up on the family farm in Nobleford, completing his high school there. He had a love of the open road and became a truck driver, his profession until retirement. For most of the 90’s he returned to farming out at Readymade, but was never far from being behind the wheel. In his younger years he enjoyed barbershop singing, an endeavor where he could be in harmony.
Besides his loving wife Rosemary, John is survived by his daughter Pam (Mike) Bender of Highland, CA; son Kevin of Calgary; grandchildren Ian, Declan, Kieran and Ashlyn; sisters Mint Loslo of Surrey, BC, Trudie (Bert) Slomp of Lethbridge; brother Galen Konynenbelt of Lethbridge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Johan and Cora Konynenbelt, brother Arie “Ark”, and sister Marie “Toots” Plomp.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
The Interment will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the Nobleford Monarch Cemetery followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 260 McGill Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Pastor Cameron Fraser officiating.
