LORAN Adam

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that Adam Mathias Loran passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Adam¹s memory will live on in the hearts of his family; wife, Margaret; children, Bill (Carol-Leah) Loran, Elinor (Fred) Regner, Richard (Sharon) Loran, Bev (Ray) Francis, Leonard (Lori) Loran, Terry (Terrance) Sawchuk, Pat Loran (Gord) and Kathy (Les) Meyer. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; Sandy the dog and Billy the cat, including numerous friends and loved ones. Adam was born in Krupp, SK., and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1943 until 1945 serving as a mechanic. Adam married the love of his life, Margaret Lanz on October 9, 1944. They farmed in southern Saskatchewan until 1975 when they moved their family to the NWT where he worked as a journeyman heavy duty mechanic at the Cominco Mines. Adam was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years. He retired to Lethbridge in 1985 and then to Dunmore in 2006 where he lived his life everyday to the fullest. His passions were his family, woodworking, fishing, cards and most of all his guitar. The celebration of Adam¹s life will take place for family and friends at the Redcliff Legion, 302 Broadway Avenue East, Redcliff, Alberta on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Private family Interment will take place in the Field of Honor, Redcliff Cemetery.
