TERAMURA Nobu

NOBU TERAMURA of Lethbridge passed away at St. Therese Villa on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the age of 104 years.

Mom was born in Vancouver, BC on June 18, 1908 to Chozabura and Yae Hamada. She moved to Coaldale, AB with her family in 1942. She was widowed at the early age of 39 and supported herself and five children by working as a seamstress. She also worked at McArthur’s Ladies Wear doing alterations and later at Silk-O-Lina Fabric Store. During her lifetime she travelled extensively, making three trips to Japan, Spain, London, Brazil, Argentina and Hawaii. She enjoyed Japanese dancing and clogging for many years. She is survived by two sons: Richard (Ann) Teramura, and Ron (Gayle) Teramura; two daughters: Margaret (Nicholas) Hannas and Betty (Tom) Tomiyama. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her brother Kazushi in 1941, her husband Eikichi in 1948, a granddaughter Melanie in 1973 and a daughter Irene in 1993. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice if desired.
