Reginald “Reg” Wiest of Lethbridge, formerly of Enchant, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on March 17, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
Reg was born on December 22, 1933 on the family farm in Enchant, the 14th child of Clarence and Edith Wiest.
Reg is survived and sadly missed by his wife Martha Wiest; sons Rick and Dalyce (Clayton, Cory, Carson), Miles and Diane (Marina, Devin, Kelsey) (Melissa and husband Brent); daughters Delores and Brad Cook (Kaitlyn, Conner, Carter), Sheila and Terry Hagel (Tielle, Hayden); 2 great-grandchildren (Alexis, Casey-Jean); 3 brothers Cecil (Louise), Phil (Caroline), and Dick (Karen); sisters-in-law Maise and Verna; brother-in-law Alan Bryant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Reg was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Edith Wiest; 6 brothers John, Willie David, George, Roy, and Mike; 5 sisters Joyce and Helen Wiest, Phylis Howg, Elsie Bryant, and Lola Batalden; brothers-in-law Art Howg and Roy Batalden; sisters-in-law Vera, Dorothy, Jessie and Olivia.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the ENCHANT COMMUNITY HALL, with Reverend Jeffery Frostad officiating. Interment will be held in the Enchant Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7or to a charity of one’s choice.
